We are seeking a Band 5 Civilian Dental Hygienist to join our team at RAF Marham, Kings Lynn.

The successful candidate will receive a Market Skills Supplement of £5750.

The purpose of this role is to provide dental treatment, oral hygiene instruction and education, and any other appropriate clinical procedure as prescribed by a Dental Officer in support of the DPHC (Dental) Oral Health Strategy.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Ensuring their surgery is prepared appropriately for the day’s patients in accordance with current regulations.

- Carrying out work under the direction of a registered dentist who has examined the patient and indicated in writing the course of treatment to be provided.

- Maintaining the standard and cleanliness of the surgery and accommodation for which they are responsible, reporting any deficiencies in accordance with local protocols.

- Clean, disinfect, sterilise and where required, pack instruments after each patient, ensuring IPC protocols are always followed.

- Ensuring all statistical data is collated in accordance with current DPHC policy.

- Managing dental records (manual and electronic), ensuring the correct hastening, receipt, despatch, registration and storage.

To be successful you will have a knowledge of range of oral health procedures; acquired through training to degree level or to diploma level plus experience to degree equivalent level.

You must be a Registered member of the GDC.

There is no requirement to deploy as this is met by our uniformed personnel but you will form the continuity of care required by our patients when based at home.

Please be aware that if you are found successful you will be asked to provide evidence of your immunity to Hepatitis B.

Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. The level of security needed is security check.

All employees joining Ministry of Defence who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a 6-month probation period (unless otherwise advised) effective from the employment start date.
