Ward A8 are seeking to fill the last 3 vacancies for healthcare assistant. We are a medical ward specialising in complex renal care. We specialise in Acute Kidney Injury care, haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, renal biopsy care and general renal diseases. We also support general medical patients such as those with sepsis.

We are a busy, fast paced ward who are seeking to recruit into our team 3 Healthcare Assistants (2 full time at 37.5 hours and 1 part time at 18 hours). Are you passionate, motivated and willing to undertake a challenge and can respond to the pressures of performing in a dynamic, challenging setting and providing good standards of patient care.

Care experience is desirable and basic IT skills are required for the role. NVQ level 2 or equivalent is essential.

The role entails supporting the nursing team to manage the care of a group of allocated patients focusing on personal care needs, holistic support and general cleaning duties. It is a busy role and requires you to be on your feet for long durations. We work 11.5 hour duty allocations. Applicant must be caring, compassionate and keen to continuously strive to improve care standards and support our vision for the ward in relation to operational development.

The Healthcare Assistant role requires you to deliver individualised dignified care at all times and act as a patient advocate.
