Swansea Bay NHS Health Board provides a broad range of community and inpatient services. The Health Board is one of the largest in Wales and the UK. The Mental Health Directorate is responsible for providing Adult Mental Health Services, Older People Mental Health Services, Substance Misuse Services, Forensic Psychiatry and Rehabilitation & Recovery Services.

SBU HB is committed to delivering quality driven Mental Health services and we encourage applications from enthusiastic, highly motivated individuals to apply for as a LAS ST4+ within the Psychiatry department

We have 2 posts available wef 7th august 2019 - until 4th February 2020 in the first instance.

1 in the department of Old Age Psychiatry based in Gelligron Salary - £1,299.44 per week paid monthly

1 in the department of Acute Psychiatry based at Cefn Coed Hospital Salary - £1,392.25 per week paid monthly

If enough applicants we are also looking to appoint to a vacancy in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Based at Trehafod/ Cefn coed Hospital however this appointment would be made and employed by Cwm Taf Health Board.

The successful applicant(s) will participate on the on call rota.

Although the post is not recognised for training, participation in educational programmes, audit and research will be encouraged and supported. There is an active Multi Professional Education Centre and Junior Medical Staff are encouraged to use its facilities. There are also comprehensive Medical Libraries at all sites managed by Chartered Librarians.

We are a University Health Board working in partnership with Swansea University, Swansea School of Medicine, the School of Health Science and the Institute of Life Science.

Swansea is Wales' second-largest city, and sits on the five-mile sweep of Swansea Bay. An ideal base for exploring south-west Wales, there's also much on offer for visitors in Swansea itself.
