LOCUM CONSULTANT GENERAL SURGEON with sub-specialty interest in Upper GI Surgery (fixed term for 6 months)

Applications are invited for a Locum Consultant General Surgeon join a team of 9 General Surgery Consultants who sub-specialise in upper and lower GI surgery based at Leighton Hospital in Crewe. This is a temporary post to increase capacity for general surgical work with an on-call commitment of 1:8, outpatient and inpatient commitments including endoscopy sessions.

The department is well supported by 5 Registrars, 3 Staff Grades, 3 LAS Registrars, 2 CSTs, 2 GP Trainee, 2 LAS ST 2, 1 Educational Fellow, 7 ACPs, 1 PA and 6 F1’s.

All Consultants are based at Leighton Hospital with additional outlying clinics and endoscopy sessions being undertaken at the Victoria Infirmary in Northwich.

You will also be required to participate fully in undergraduate and post graduate teaching and will be expected to promote Clinical Governance within the department.

Applicants must have full registration with the GMC including a License to Practice.
