Dietitians Assistant - inpatient services (Band 3)

A dietitians assistant works to support the dietitians in providing the nutrition and dietetic service to patients. This post will be working with the Hospital dietitians team at Worthing Hospital, being allocated tasks and patients under the supervision of one of the dietitians.

You will assist in monitoring individual patients in the wards, speaking to patients and their carers and liaising with other members of the multidisciplinary team involved with the patient's care. You will need to collect information needed by the dietitian to support the assessment and ongoing monitoring of patients. As part dietetic department you will support the dietitian with tasks for projects, training days and undertake a range of administrative tasks to ensure an excellent service is always provided to our patients. You will need good computer skills and be able to use basic software packages.

Experience of working in a caring environment is essential as well as having an interest in food and nutrition. This post would suit someone who is organised and cares about getting it right first time, who has excellent communication skills and strives to demonstrate high standards of working within everything they do.

You will need to be reliable with a good attendance record.

We are committed to training and professional development and implement appraisals with a personal development plans. A full induction will be provided and development of skills and competencies.

This is a part time post, although the working hours need to be delivered during department core working hours (see job description), the exact shift pattern will be discussed with the successful candidate.
