  • Services for people with complex and severe personality disorder at the Cassel Hospital in Richmond
  • High secure services at Broadmoor Hospital in Berkshire

0.5 wte Locum NHS Consultant Psychiatrist in Inpatient Specialist Rehabilitation Services

Robin Ward, Lakeside Mental health Unit

 

West London NHS Trust is currently in the process of reviewing and extending their specialist psychosis rehabilitation services. The existing ward is changing to a Specialist High Dependency Rehabilitation ward and we are developing a range of community offers to further enhance offers to support movement towards independent living.

 

We are looking for a dynamic Consultant Psychiatrist to work within the ward and to be part of the leadership team helping to develop the service and onward rehabilitation pathway.

 

The post-holder will have experience of working with people with a history of severe and enduring mental health problems and will have a keen interest in change management and service delivery.

The services aim to help change trajectories for those who have traditionally been high users of services and to improve both their levels of clinical symptomatology and their levels of functioning and social inclusion.

 

The rehabilitation services boast excellent multi-disciplinary working and the service is jointly led by an established Consultant in Rehabilitation Psychiatry together with senior psychology and nursing colleagues who embrace contemporary best practice bio-psycho-social models of rehabilitation care and service provision. The trust is committed to developing excellent services and you will be part of a team excited by, and striving for, optimal recovery outcomes for each individual who uses our services.

 

This post is being recruited to on the basis of a job share with the existing consultant as they focus on delivering other management responsibilities within the Trust. The post represents an exciting opportunity to develop skills in service development, work closely with the range of community services and develop a range of treatment options individually designed around those with complex needs. There are excellent links with medical, psychology and nursing training programmes.
