Ward E14 is a busy colorectal ward within the Surgical Division at Nottingham University Hospitals. The ward is a 28 bedded unit caring for patients undergoing both elective and emergency surgery. We use the principles of enhanced recovery aiming to reduce length of hospital stay. Supporting our staff are a number of specialist teams, including Colorectal Nurse Specialists, Stoma Specialist Nurses, Acute Pain Team and the Critical Care Outreach Team with whom we work closely. We are seeking enthusiastic and highly motivated registered nurses with a keen interest in the area of colorectal surgery. We are in the process of establishing a wider ward team and we are looking for staff who want to join us. We have a caring and supportive team of nurses dedicated to the continuing delivery of safe and excellent care which is supported by our excellent patient feedback. Good communication skills and the ability to work flexibly as part of a team are essential. Individual personal development is actively supported with a Supernummary induction period and preceptorship. A local and corporate induction programme is provided with an ongoing training and development programme which will be linked to your annual appraisal. There are also numerous opportunities for nurses with a keen interest in the development of link nurse roles.
