Cross-Sectional Band 6 Radiographers – Training Supported

Warrington Radiology Department is having an Open Day for anyone who is Amazing!

On Saturday 1st February, we invite you to visit our department to meet the staff and Managers, between 0900 and 1600.

You will be able to have a tour of the department, learn about the exciting things we have planned for 2020 and beyond, and get a feel for our extremely positive and friendly department. If you wish, we are happy to provide an interview on the day!

Many are unaware of the ‘hidden-gem of the North-West’ that is Warrington and Halton Hospital. We are a team that is keen to push boundaries and develop our staff from within. We support Radiographer Reporting in Chest, Abdomen, MSK, and Nuclear Medicine. We support Radiographer-Led CT Colonography, with advanced practice in Mammography & Interventional Theatres.

We encourage self-development and fully support attendance at National and International Conferences to ensure we get the best outcomes for our patients. In 2019 we had delegates and presenters at UKIO, RSNA, BNMS and BEMUS.

We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic Band 6 radiographers who are interested in career progression and advanced practice.

The Trust provides high quality care across two sites situated within close commuting distance from one another which provide a range of clinical experiences for our staff. We are developing a unique and varied rota, including a combination of long days / nightshifts and dayshifts.

We support new staff by ensuring they are on a mentorship programme to support their transition to our Trust, which ensures that you will feel confident and competent in your role.

We have plenty of opportunities for CPD including research, audits and CPD meetings. So, come and join a dynamic and exciting department, where we are committed to supporting and encouraging our staff!

The successful candidates will gain experience working with the Cross Sectional Imaging team on our 2 CT scanners (including our soon-to-be installed 640 slice Canon Aquilion One Prism, which will be the first in the North West) and 1.5T MRI scanner on the Warrington site and on the 128 slice CT scanner and 3T MRI scanner in the Cheshire and Merseyside Treatment Centre on the Halton site.

All of our Band 6 CT radiographers are trained to do CT Colonography and Cardiac Imaging.

These roles are an exceptional opportunity for a committed professional with excellent interpersonal skills to further develop their experience in a supportive environment within a forward thinking Trust.

Warrington is situated at the heart of the regional motorway network, with quick and easy access throughout the region and the wider UK via the M62, M6 and M56.

Many more exciting cultural destinations are on the doorstep of Warrington, including the historic city of Chester, and the cosmopolitan cities of Liverpool and Manchester, all within approximately 30 minutes’ drive.

Rail links are also outstanding. There are frequent services to London via the West Coast Main Line, with a travel time of less than two hours. East-west rail links are also excellent, with the Trans Pennine Express service linking the town to Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds and the east coast. Travel times to both Liverpool and Manchester are 30 minutes or less by rail.
