Location: Unipart House Business Centre, Garsington Road, Oxford OX4 2PG

Department: Patient Contact Centre

Band: 3, £9.62 per hour

Working Hours: Mon – Fri (9-5)

Duration of placement: Until 16th March 2020

John Radcliffe Hospital is a major centre for healthcare research, housing departments of Oxford University Medical School and Oxford Brookes University's School of Healthcare Studies.

What will your duties and responsibilities be?

The post holder will be part of a team of call centre agents who will provide a first class service for elective care to patients and their representatives, General Practitioners (GPs) and health care professionals. They will work within a call centre environment providing a full range of telephone and email appointment services.

 

The post holder will deal with patients’ appointment and queries that relate to all four sites of the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUHFT).

 

When dealing appointments and queries, a wide range of communication skills will be used in order to provide a patient centred service. The post holder will deal sensitively with everyone, responding appropriately to a wide range of needs.

 

Skills/Responsibilities:

As for any administrative role you need a good standard of literacy and numeracy (GCSEs or equivalent), IT skills and qualifications as most of NHS systems are IT-based now. You’ll be using your skills in time management, organisation and communication.

  • A good understanding of Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Ability to organise work independently and adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • An ability to communicate with people at all levels
  • Excellent telephone manner including good listening skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn new skills
