The Trust provides a range of hospital services to a local community of around 430,000 residents along with an increasing range of more specialised services provided outside this area. We also provide a range of community based services across Sunderland, South Tyneside and Gateshead, particularly within Community Nursing, Family Care and Therapy Services.

Inpatient facilities are provided from Sunderland Royal Hospital (SRH), South Tyneside District Hospital (STDH), St Benedict’s Hospice and from the specialist Sunderland Eye Infirmary, giving a total number of beds of around 1200 acute beds, as well as a state-of-the-art ICCU at SRH. The Trust is continuing to invest in its infrastructure with: a new Emergency Department and Integrated Assessment Unit opened June 2017 at SRH; a state of the art Integrated Emergency Care Centre at STDH opened in 2012; in 2016 the Trust opened its new Endoscopy Unit at SRH; in 2017 the Trust opened its state of the art Surgical Centre at STDH in 2017; in 2017 the Trust opened its new state of the art MRI at STDH; in 2017 the Trust opened its state of the art Durham Treatment Centre providing satellite dialysis, out-patient clinics, imaging and day case procedures across a range of specialties. The Trust also provides an outreach service to our Durham patients for nephrology, urology, ENT, OMFS and ophthalmology. There is an onsite at SRH Fitness Centre and access to a Childcare Co-ordinator to help staff with their childcare arrangements.

An opportunity has arisen at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust to become part of a Finance Bank team working in the Transactional section covering Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as and when required

 

We are looking for someone who is reliable and flexible, and who demonstrates commitment to achieving both their own and the Trust’s goals, whilst fully contributing to the team spirit.

 

The successful candidates will play a significant part in the Transactional Processing Section in terms of managing the payment of supplier invoices. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to undertake various duties including data input, review of invoices on hold and supplier queries and reconciliations.

Ideally but not essential is a good understanding of the NHS finance regime is required. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels and good organisational skills and a real commitment to excellent service delivery.  You should have experience of working in a busy finance office environment. . You must be capable of working to tight deadlines whilst ensuring consistency and accuracy, able to prioritise workloads and be able to work on your own initiative as well as under supervision. An enthusiastic and energetic approach to work along with an acceptance of work flexibility and continuously changing working practices is essential.

 

Successful candidates must have good Excel skills and must also be able to demonstrate previous Purchase ledger / Accounts Receivable experience.  NHS or private sector would be an advantage ( but not essential).  Oracle (Cloud) Experience would be desirable
