Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP)

Only applicants with a PWP qualification (or soon to be qualified) will be considered.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Time to Talk, the West Sussex NHS IAPT provider of talking therapies, which this year celebrates 10 years of continuous service. We provide a range of NICE compliant psychological therapies for people experiencing difficulties with anxiety and depression. The interventions include CBT, counselling, mindfulness (MBCT) and trauma therapies at Step 3, and guided self-help and psycho-educational workshops at step 2. We also offer digital therapies and have a track record of being involved in a number of high quality research projects. The team consists of psychological therapists (CBT), counsellors, psychological wellbeing practitioners (PWPs), administrators and employment support specialists, working together to deliver a comprehensive ‘stepped care’ primary care psychological therapies service.

We currently have vacancies at step 2 in the North Locality of Time to Talk and invite applications from experienced and newly-qualified PWPs. The role involves providing step 2 guided self-help CBT-based interventions over the telephone and face to face; facilitating psycho-educational workshops and webinars in service and community settings; and working with computerised CBT packages. Patients present with a wide range of common mental health difficulties and applicants will need to be emotionally resilient to manage a high volume caseload. You will receive support and supervision from the senior PWP and CBT therapists and will play an active role in the continued development of the service. Time to Talk has an excellent record of staff development and retention and is committed to nurturing the talents of its practitioners, who are encouraged to develop specialisms and undertake quality improvement initiatives. We are looking to recruit to our teams in Crawley and Mid Sussex. Up to full-time hours are available; both full-time and part-time appointments will be considered. PWPs will sometimes be required to travel to different sites in West Sussex, and all clinical staff are required to work one late evening per week (12-8pm).
