An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and dedicated individual to secure the post of Ward Sister/Charge Nurse to provide leadership and management to the nursing agenda on ward B4 Neurosurgery at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. Supported by the Senior and Lead Nurse, this is a vital position to lead the professional development and support high safe standards of care, whilst maintaining and improving the operational performance of the ward

The post-holder will manage and support a 29 bedded ward. The patient cohort comprises of neurosurgical and spinal patients. We are currently involved in plans to supprt the Health Board to operate as a Major Trauma Centre and this will add an exciting opportunity to an already stimulating and diverse working environment.

Strong clinical leadership is a key requirement for this role and as such candiadates with proven leadership skills rather than knowledge of the speciality will be considered favourably

You will provide inspirational leadership whist acting as a positive role model for staff. You will be responsible for effective team management and will work towards achieving professional, operational and clinical objectives to ensure that the highest standard of care is maintained.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
