  • Medium secure services on the St Bernard’s Hospital site in Ealing
  • Services for people with complex and severe personality disorder at the Cassel Hospital in Richmond
  • High secure services at Broadmoor Hospital in Berkshire

To be a successful Staff Nurse at Hammersmith and Fulham Mental Health Unit, you will be a registered mental health nurse with a passion for providing the best possible care to all people who need it. We are looking for enthusiastic, forward thinking and emotionally resilient mental health nurses who can contribute to the excellent service we provide to our patients. In return you will receive fundamental support from peers, dedicated supervision and outstanding development opportunities.

The unit consists of two gender specific admission wards and one Male recovery ward in addition we have the 12 bedded male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) ward for local services across the three boroughs – Hammersmith & Fulham, Hounslow and Ealing. The unit is part of a supportive and well integrated mental health service that benefits from an intelligent and professionally mature workforce. We have strong links with other key services including the community mental health teams, Police Service, Emergency Duty Teams, Advocacy Service, Crisis Assessment Treatment Team, Chaplaincy Service and other voluntary organisations.

You will be supporting the Clinical Team Leader and the ward manager to lead a committed and compassionate team, all of whom provide high standards of care to their patients promoting recovery and each has a vital role in developing the service.

One of the wards has been awarded excellence by AIMS and this achievement continues to be reflected in the work carried out by the team. Therefore, you will be joining a group of staff members who are driven and provide ‘excellent’ care to patients.

Registered Nurses are required to produce their current NMC Revalidation documents/Portfolio at the assessment centre for verification, unless you are a newly qualified nurse from University.
