GENERAL PRACTICE TREATMENT ROOM NURSE REQUIRED

Handforth Health Centre, Wilmslow Road, Handforth, SK9 3HL

We are a ten doctor NHS General Practice based in the Handforth, Cheshire, with a list size of approximately 10000 patients. We are a training practice for GP trainees, and FY2 doctors.

We are looking for an additional enthusiastic and motivated Practice Nurse to join our small, dynamic and friendly team of two other practice nurses and three health care assistants. Practice Nurse experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided for the successful candidate from our outstanding clinical staff.

Duties essential to the role include carrying out chronic disease clinics, treatment room sessions, smears, health promotion clinics, travel vaccinations, baby immunisations, general immunisations, ECGs, wound care and ear syringing.

22 – 30 hours per week (including one late night to 8pm on Wednesday)

Suitable candidates will have the following skills and/or attributes:

Essential:

  • Professional attitude and caring nature
  • Willingness to undergo training where required

Desirable:

  • Previous experience of practice nursing within a general practice setting
  • Previous experience of clinical IT systems
  • Flexibility to cover holiday and sickness leave

Starting salary will be dependent on the candidate and their clinical experience. This role would suit a nurse new into general practice who wants to develop their skill set over the coming years.
