As one of the two proposed hubs for Greater Manchester, you will have the opportunity to work in one of the largest and most forward looking Laboratory Medicine Division’s in the country.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, self-motivated individual to join the Divisional Management Team at the Oxford Road Campus of MFT.

The successful candidate will work with the Divisional Management Team to ensure the Division is up to date and forward thinking in its educational programme and development of its workforce. We strongly believe in developing our staff through education, training and CPD. You will act as the training lead for Biomedical Scientists, Medical Laboratory Aides (MLA) and A&C staff across the division and you will be required to liaise with local universities, colleges and other education providers as well as colleagues across MFT to ensure we are at the frontline of workforce development across Greater Manchester through the provision of programmes such as apprenticeships and T levels as well as offering work experience and placements in association with local education providers.

You will also act as the Divisional support for clinical liaison activities, to facilitate and promote access to the Divisional services. You will be required to liaise with our colleagues across the Trust through various groups and communication methods to ensure we are meeting their needs and providing a quality, safe service delivering the right result for the right patient at the right time.

As a senior member of the Divisional management team you will also be required to act as an ambassador for the Division where required and to provide feedback to the divisional team as and when required.

We are looking for a visionary leader with excellent communication skills and a training qualification or experience in training and development. You will be HCPC registered, and have significant knowledge of current issues in Laboratory Medicine workforce education and qualifications with a good awareness of current issues in the pathology service, health and safety legislation and UKAS standards.
