NHS Resolution is an Arm’s Length Body of the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC). As a not for profit part of the NHS, our purpose is to provide expertise to the NHS to resolve concerns fairly, share learning for improvement and preserve resources for patients. To do that we have four key service areas:

Claims Management: delivering expertise in handling both clinical and non-clinical claims to members of our Indemnity Schemes.

Practitioner Performance Advice: providing advice, support and interventions in relation to concerns about the individual performance of Doctors, Dentists and Pharmacists.

Primary Care Appeals: offering an impartial tribunal service for the fair handling of Primary Care contracting services.

Safety and Learning: supporting the NHS to better understand and learn from claims, concerns and disputes; to target safety activity while sharing learning across the NHS.

Job Summary

Do you want to lead transformational change at an Arm’s-Length Body with over 24 years’ experience in the health and justice sectors? Are you confident in your ability to lead an expert team that can plan, design, oversee and deliver innovative and impactful change on a national scale? If so, the newly created Head of Strategic Transformation role at NHS Resolution could be just right for you.

NHS Resolution is embarking on a significant change journey to ensure it remains fit for purpose. The current portfolio includes: improving where and how we work (with relocation of our central London base to a Government hub in Canary Wharf planned for 2021); implementing the outputs of a recent target operating model review (to maximise the benefits of delivering services to both the primary and secondary care sectors); and implementing the necessary infrastructure and systems changes to ensure we continually take advantage of technological improvements to deliver best value to the public purse.

The Head of Strategic Transformation will be pivotal to the success of the portfolio. Ideally, we are looking for someone who:

  • Is a recognised leader, confident working within a high-profile role and making it their own;
  • Will use a high level of personal influence to drive transformational change by creating a culture that encourages innovation throughout the organisation;
  • Has past experience of delivering complex change portfolios or programmes and can lead the organisation’s Programme Management Office and change management resource pool; and
  • Is capable of building and fostering strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders.
