Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) Band 7 - Full Time (1.0wte) (Would consider job share) Fixed term post (6 months initially) within Leeds MindMate SPA at Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust

About the Role
We are recruiting for a full time temporary (fixed term) Band 7 Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to join the clinical team at MindMate Single Point of Access (SPA). Leeds MindMate SPA is a Leeds Community Healthcare hosted service that receives referrals for children and young people aged 5-17 years who need support with their emotional wellbeing or mental health. We receive both self-referrals and professional referrals which are triaged and allocated to the most appropriate service. The team comprises of administrative staff and clinicians from both The Market Place (Leeds City Council Service) and CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service).
We receive many referrals for neurodevelopmental difficulties such as Autism and ADHD and we are looking for an experienced SLT to triage these referrals. In addition, you would work alongside the MindMate SPA senior clinician to review the current triage process for children with neurodevelopmental difficulties. This would include identifying and implementing areas to improve the referral pathway and supporting the development of team members, therefore improving the service offered to children and young people accessing the service.

Leeds MindMate SPA is based in Leeds city centre at Merrion House with state-of-the-art facilities and easy access to public transport. Please be aware that we are unable to provide parking. The service operates Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.

There is a strong management/peer support structure including access to regular clinical and safeguarding supervision and a wide range of opportunities for CPD (Continuing Professional Development). You will have access to support from other Highly Specialist SLT colleagues, Clinical Leads and the Children's Speech & Language therapy leadership team, in addition to the team around MindMate Spa..

About you
Are you a highly experienced SLT with experience of assessing and diagnosing neurodevelopmental conditions such as Autism/ADHD?
Are you keen to be involved in a new and exciting project to further develop your interdisciplinary team working?
Do you enjoy being part of a dynamic and innovative team?
Are you highly organised with an excellent telephone manner and an ability to gather crucial information for the purpose of assessment?

. You would be accountable to the Team Operational Manager whilst continuing to receive professional support and supervision from the Children's Speech and Language Therapy service (as part of Leeds Community Healthcare Trust).
. You will have good people skills, a confident telephone manner, the ability to liaise with professionals from a variety of disciplines.
. You will have good IT skills as the work will involve accessing and understanding four different Electronic Patient Record Databases (Mosaic, CareNotes, Systm1 and Synergy.
. You will be registered with both HCPC and RCSLT.
. You will be expected to work and liaise with others such as parents/carers, education-based staff and other professional colleagues.
. We currently require staff to work a minimum of 0.6 wte across the week to ensure clinical capacity within the service alongside completion of statutory/mandatory training, ongoing CPD etc.
