An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated HCSW to join our gynaecology oncology team looking patients across Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) at the Royal Gwent Hospital, Nevill Hall Hospital, Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr, Ysbyty Anuerin Bevan and County Hospital, Pantaeg and within the community setting. The post holder will focus on service users undergoing Gynaecological oncology investigations, surgery and treatments. This will provide an excellent opportunity for an individual with an interest in cancer services who is looking for career development.

The successful applicant needs to have an interest in women's health, have excellent communication skills and work well within a multidisciplinary team.

This post will provide an opportunity for a HCSW to work under the guidance and supervision of a Gynaecology Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist the Macmillan Gynaecology Support Worker will facilitate and support:

  • Care delivery
  • Communication and Coordination
  • Information and Education
  • Holistic Needs Assessment The post holder will be working at The Royal Gwent Hospital, Nevill Hall and Ysbty Ystrad Fawr Hospitals and Ysbyty Aneurin Bevan depending on clinical service requirements

The service aims to provide a high standard of care and is committed to continual service improvement within the specialty.

Some experience of working within a gynaecology setting would be an advantage, though this is not essential as full training and support will be provided.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
