£37,570 to £43,772 per annum

We provide healthcare services to people living in Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf county borough areas, serving a population of around 450,000. We are ideally situated between Wales’s capital city, Porthcawl to the west, and the stunning scenery in the Beacon Beacons.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Immunology department at Cwm Taf University Health Board for a permanent Advanced Biomedical Scientist. The department is UKAS ISO 15189 accredited, offering a wide assay repertoire across numerous platforms, including ELISA, chemiluninescence, indirect immunofluorescence and flow cytometry.

The post holder will report to the Immunology Service Manager. Staff development is a priority for us and all staff are encouraged to study for further appropriate qualifications.

Previous experience in an Immunology laboratory is essential for this role. The post holder will be expected to perform highly specialist tests and supervise Band 5/6 BMS staff.

South Wales is an attractive part of the country with fantastic coastal and mountain landscapes, such as Gower and Brecon Beacons, alongside cities (Cardiff/Swansea) that offer major sports and music events and an excellent variety of shops, bars, restaurants and leisure facilities.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
