This is your opportunity to join our Workforce and OD senior leadership team as Head of Leadership and Organisational Development responsible for leading the Leadership and OD team with a number of L&OD Business Partners, contributing to the implementation of various transformation programmes and developing the Culture of YAS and overseeing the Leadership and OD agenda and offering for the whole of Yorkshire Ambulance Service.

The role is a senior one which requires both innovative and strategic thinking alongside hands-on focus on delivering tangible solutions for the Trust ensuring services are delivered and development managed effectively and adding value to stakeholders.

As our Head of Leadership and Organisational Development you will be responsible for developing and delivering a number of strategic plans aligned to our Trust’s ‘One Team, Best Care’ strategy and our enabling People strategy, including Staff Engagement, Staff Survey, Appraisals, Talent Development, Leadership Development, and L&OD Business Partnering.

In your role you will be the Portfolio Governance Board (PGB) manager for our Leadership and Management PGB (one of 4 PGBs) liaising closely with the chair of the PGB and other relevant stakeholders across the Trust.

The Head of Leadership and Organisational Development is responsible for the Leadership and OD function and will line manage the team. The role reports to and will occasionally deputise for the Associate Director of Education and Organisational Development.

You will have significant experience of working in a senior OD Management role in the NHS or have extensive experience in an equally diverse and complex organisation. You will ideally be CIPD qualified and educated to Masters Level or have the equivalent experience. You will have excellent leadership, motivation, influencing and negotiation skills and a proven track record of leading and developing a leadership and OD function, working with, supporting and challenging senior managers and Directors whilst delivering interventions that have added value and made a positive difference. You will be comfortable with analysis of complex or ambiguous information and be able to translate this into tangible solutions and plans for change.

The successful candidate will be confident and effective at communicating and engaging with stakeholders, managing in a consultancy style, and be able to demonstrate their ability to live our values and lead, inspire and motivate their team to do their best for our staff and patients.
