Clinical Teaching Fellow(s)-Office Based
We would like to appoint 16 Clinical Teaching Fellows (CTF)-office based for the Academic Year beginning August 2020. These are 1-year posts in the first instance, but they can be extended for a further 12 months by mutual agreement.
These posts are aimed at post foundation year doctors who wish to spend time working in a medical educational role at The Academy in Swindon, working with medical students from The Universities of Bristol (UoB), Oxford (UoO) & Kings College Hospital, London (KCH). The posts are suitable for doctors who wish to take time out before starting higher medical training or doctors who want to take a year out of a training programme (subject to agreement by the relevant training programme director) or for doctors interested in an academic career who wish to pursue a higher degree such as an MSc or doctorate (MD).
All appointee’s will be fully funded to undertake a formal educational qualification such as The Teaching & Learning for Health Professionals (TLHP) certificate or a master’s programme over 2 years in any academic area related to medicine. All appointees will spend 80% of their time working on the UG programme and 20% of their time undertaking supernumerary clinical work. The rotations will be agreed at interview.
