We have long term placement opportunities available for Pharmacists available at The Rotherham NHS FT specifically providing the following

  • To provide a high quality, cost effective and efficient patient centred clinical pharmacy service to the Oncology outreach unit.
  • To perform clinical screening of prescriptions for chemotherapy, TPN, CIVAS and other sterile products. Carry out the final release check on finished products and extemporaneously prepared items.
  • To deliver and further develop the Pharmacy element of the oncology service within the Trust. 
  • To ensure the dispensing of oral anti-cancer medicines complies with NPSA guidelines
  • To undertake (non-medical) prescribing for Oncology and Haematology patients.
  • To be named on the Trust register for intrathecal chemotherapy.
  • To be a member of the Trust Chemotherapy Committee.
  • To undertake patient counselling for oncology drugs.
  • To participate, where possible, in consultant haematology ward rounds providing highly specialised advice on pharmaceutical matters, particularly where information is not readily available
