Do you want to work in a nationally recognised Stroke Rehabilitation service? The North Staffordshire Stroke Rehabilitation Service is the specialised rehabilitation service for adults with a new diagnosis of stoke. It comprises an inpatient service on Sneyd Ward at the Haywood Hospital and a Community Stroke Rehabilitation Service supporting patients post discharge. The Physiotherapy Assistant role advertised will work within the ward setting.

The Stroke Rehabilitation service is responsible for delivering expert clinical care; through assessment and treatment programmes, to adults registered with general Practitioners [GP’s] in North Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent.

In joining our team you will be part of a respected specialist service working over 7 days with individuals and their families to deliver either inpatient rehabilitation services for adults living with physical, cognitive & / or psychological issues resulting from stroke. We promote a strong focus on maximising function, prevention of deterioration, stroke education and prevention and lifestyle advice that best suits service user & carer needs.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual:

  • That wishes to develop their clinical skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.

  • Already working within the field of rehabilitation or who are keen to develop their skills and knowledge further within this specialty.

  • With a strong commitment to working in a team
  • Who has a clean driving license with access to a vehicle for community working

Previous work experience in stroke rehabilitation is not essential however knowledge of the role of therapy and specialist rehabilitation is desirable.
