Velindre University NHS Trust is going through a period of exciting transformation, change and development. It has a clear ambition of becoming a world class organisation which provides cancer and blood and transplantation services that are considered as world class by others. In order to realise this ambition, the Trust Board is in the process of developing an exciting strategy which will provide the blueprint for the next ten years.

The Head of Corporate Planning will lead on a number of critical strategic and delivery planning issues for the Trust, supporting the Deputy Director of Strategic Transformation, Planning and Performance, Executive Directors and Clinical Leads in developing and implementing the Trusts’ strategy and its Integrated Medium Term Plan for ‘Delivering Quality, Care and Excellence’.

The role is Trust wide and will focus on the development of organisational/service strategies, service planning and transformational change to enable the Trust to achieve its vision, aims and objectives. The postholder will also play a key leadership role in the strategic planning and delivery of the Trusts’ flagship transformation programmes.

This is a key leadership role within the Trust which will enable strategic change across the organisation and the development of operational services within the Velindre Cancer Centre and Welsh Blood Service.

A key part of the role will also be to work with a wide range of healthcare partners such as Health Boards/Trusts, Community Health Councils, the Welsh Government and commercial/private partners.

The postholder will also deputise for the Deputy Director of Strategic Transformation, Planning and Performance, carrying the full level of accountability and responsibility for the Deputy Directors work programmes.

 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
