A vacancy has arisen for the role of Quality Assistant, working within the Division of Pharmacy, Diagnostics and Genetics Laboratory Quality Team at Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust. All laboratories are UKAS accredited to ISO 15189 and we hope to build upon our high standards of quality.

The postholder will have a key role in assisting with maintaining and developing quality, primarily providing vital support with administrative, record keeping, and data collection, and ensuring this work is completed in a timely manner. Duties will also include assisting with audit data collection and performing audits in accordance with the internal audit schedule.

The Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is currently one of five Trusts within the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw (SYB) Pathology Transformation Programme. The aim is to design a Pathology Service that provides all SYB patients and clinicians with equitable access to high-quality, innovative laboratory medicine solutions that will ensure the best clinical outcomes for patients. The service will also be efficient and sustainable, encourage research and development in collaboration with Academia and Industry to improve health and innovation in the region and provide rewarding jobs and career opportunities for all staff.’

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and efficient individual who has a strong attention to detail and accuracy and is able to work unsupervised. The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships with all levels of staff.

In line with other NHS Organisations in the Yorkshire and Humber Region a successful candidate appointed into a post within this Trust will be required to pay the DBS check fee (£45). This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
