RADIOGRAPHER

Are you looking to join a friendly and committed Radiology & Imaging team in an idyllic part of England?

The Radiology Team at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust Radiology are pleased to offer the opportunity for qualified or student radiographers to apply for a band 5 post in our friendly and hardworking team.

We carry out a wide range of Plain Film Radiography at Torbay DGH and at 3 Community Hospitals. This involves 24/7 cover at the DGH and 7 day working in Newton Abbot Community Hospital.

As a band 5 Radiographer within this Trust, you will be based in Torbay Hospital, gaining skills and experience in a wide range of modalities, including general radiography, fluoroscopy, A&E, paediatric radiography, mobile & theatre imaging.

We have recently installed two new DR rooms to support our ED and Orthopaedic services, and are currently in the middle of an equipment replacement programme. The Radiology Directorate is well known for its successful and long standing 7-day radiology service and other service redesigns.

We are committed to recognising and developing the Radiographers role through Advanced Practice. The majority of skeletal Plain Film imaging is reported by Radiographers. Radiographers and Sonographers perform MSK Injections and we have an on-going training program to develop Advanced Practitioner Sonographers. When opportunity arises we will also develop existing staff into roles in CT, Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Catheter Lab and MRI.

A commitment to the out-of-hours rota at the DGH and Newton Abbot Hospitals is expected.

We would consider full or part time appointments and flexible working. Students who are yet to qualify can apply.

Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust serves a population of 260,000 with a catchment area covering Torbay and South Dartmoor. The population increases by approximately 100,000 in the summer as a result of tourism. Torbay Hospital is ideally situated on the fringes of Torquay town, famed for its sandy beaches and water sports. For those who prefer dry land, Dartmoor is close by and can be viewed from some of Radiology’s windows! The cities of Exeter and Plymouth are located approximately 18 and 35 miles away. Enjoy a superb quality of life, working with a forward thinking, professional team, in one of England’s most beautiful areas.
