Registered Nurse Opportunities:

The Health Board is continuing their campaign to attract qualified nurses who are not currently practicing and living in the UK . Financial and practical support is being offered to registered nurses who have retired, or who have previously nursed overseas , so they can gain employment with Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) and register as a nurse in the UK.

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) is a forward thinking, dynamic and innovative Health Board, striving to always provide the very best safe and effective care for patients.

ABUHB is one of the largest health boards in Wales serving a population of >639,000 people. It is named after the founder of the National Health Service.

ABUHB employs 3,500 registrants across ten hospitals, community and primary care settings, with a new specialist critical care centre opening in 2021.

ABUHB is situated in South East Wales with good road and rail links to London and Birmingham.

Where required the programme will offer the following:

  1. Band 3 for a maximum of 8 months, during which time a relevant English Language qualification and CBT must be achieved. Candidates should therefore have a minimum of Level 6 in Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing IELTS or the equivalent OET within the last 2 years.

If a relevant English Language qualification is not achieved within this period, the offer of employment for a registered nurse post will be withdrawn and a permanent HCSW role will be offered subject to UK immigration rules where relevant.

When not studying you will work as HCSW.

  1. Band 4 for a maximum of 8 months after achieving the required English Language qualification for the period preparing for and undertaking the OSCE. If the OSCE is not achieved within this period, the offer of employment for a registered nurse will be withdrawn and a permanent HCSW role will be offered subject to UK immigration rules. When working you will work in a supernumerary position.

  2. Band 5 on receipt of NMC PIN

Please submit your application ensuring you include full details of all your work experience and employment history, along with the date and country of your original nurse registration.

You should include all your relevant qualifications as well as dates and results of the required levels of IELTS or other English Language qualifications previously taken. You will also be asked for your current immigration status. Please ensure you complete all the requested information as failure to do so may result in your application not being shortlisted at this stage.

If shortlisted you will be invited to attend an interview, undertake a clinical skills assessment and an online English Language placement test.
