Extended Nurse Practitioners – Band 7 – Band 8a (dependant on experience)


Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals in conjunction with our primary care partners, North West Surrey Integrated Care Services (the local GP Federation) are seeking to recruit Extended Nurse Practitioners. Individuals with varying levels of experience are needed to work within the Urgent Treatment Centre co-located with the Emergency Department at St Peter’s Hospital. This is a clinical role to deliver a quality, efficient and timely service to users who have unscheduled and urgent care needs with minor injuries and illnesses.

The Trust is developing urgent and emergency care services including the building of new, state of the art facilities to deliver integrated assessment and treatment for our service users. In addition there are new facilities planned which will benefit both patients and staff with new retail units and car parking.

We are looking for motivated individuals with experience in delivering Extended Practitioner services within the urgent care setting. The successful candidate/s would require excellent interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrate high levels of clinical skills. Candidates seeking the higher banding level must have undertaken, or be undertaking, a non-medical prescribing course, or have equivalent other expertise. Previous management experience in clinical settings would be beneficial, but not essential to support the development of the service. The banding is flexible, from a band 7 to a band 8a, dependant on experience and there are opportunities to develop and advance. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference for both patients and their families/carers and staff within the Trust.
