Clinical Services - Acute Cardiac Care Unit

Are you looking for a post in a progressive Trust where you can make a valuable contribution to high quality patient care?

We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated Staff Nurse who is keen to enhance their skills in the field of Cardiology at this exciting time at WHH. Warrington has recently increased to a total of 8 Consultant Cardiologists specialising in Heart Failure management, Imaging, Devices and Intervention, 3 of whom work across sites at both Liverpool Heart and Chest and Manchester Royal Infirmary hospitals.

Warrington Hospital also boasts a Cardiac Catheterisation Suite, performing diagnostic Coronary Angiograms, Permanent Pacemaker and loop recording device insertions and DC Cardioversions along with numerous other clinical procedures. As well as the Cardiac Catheter Suite, WHH boasts a new purpose renovated 26 bedded Acute Cardiac Care Unit consisting of 18 Specialist Cardiology beds and 8 level 2 High Care beds housed in the High Care side of ACCU. The new ACCU location is in close proximity to the 2 medical assessment wards at Warrington resulting in a high turnover of acute cardiology patients, therefore providing lots of exciting opportunities for experience and development of both the staff and the development of Cardiology services at WHH, staff will be encouraged to take advantage of rotation throughout all of the areas of Cardiology to facilitate commitment to staff education and career progression.

The successful candidates should ideally have 6 months post registration experience of working in an acute setting with experience of working within a Cardiology Ward or CCU desirable, however consideration would be given to newly qualified Staff Nurses.

Applicants must be committed to providing high quality evidence based safe care, have excellent communication skills, be able to use their initiative and being a team player is essential within this role.

Hours:Part Time - 23 hours per week

A charge of £60 (Enhanced) will be made by the successful candidate which will be deducted from the first 3 months’ salary. In addition to this, you will also be required to re-pay any future costs that may arise in relation to DBS fees.
