The Oldham Care Organisation provides a full range of hospital services including; emergency care, critical care, a comprehensive range of elective and non-elective general medicine (including elderly care) and surgery, a neonatal unit, children and young people’s services, maternity services and a range of outpatient and diagnostic imaging services.

Oldham Care Organisation promotes a supportive and open culture which is focused on learning and improvement. Since spring 2016, the hospital has made an enormous amount of improvement to its services particularly in Maternity, Critical Care and Urgent and Emergency Services. Department and Job Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a substantive consultant to join the team in the Obstetrics & Gynaecology (O&G) Department at The Royal Oldham Hospital.

As part of a multidisciplinary team you will deliver a high quality, evidence based service and have continuing responsibility for the care of patients in your charge. With your specialist interest in subfertility you will have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide expert advice in the formulation of patient centred care plans for these patients.

Each post has O&G resident night duty responsibility at The Royal Oldham Hospital which is a 1:10 model supported by an O&G non-resident rota.

You will have a broad experience Obstetrics and Gynaecology, hold full registration with the General Medical Council and be on the Specialist Register in Obstetrics & Gynaecology or within six months of entry onto the Specialist register (CCT or equivalent) at the date of interview.

These are whole time equivalent posts however we welcome applications from candidates who wish to work full time or part time

The multidisciplinary team provides a full range of Obstetrics and Gynaecology services, both on an inpatient and outpatient basis.

The services provided at The Royal Oldham Hospital:

  • Full suite of Inpatient and Outpatient Obstetric Services
  • Elective Gynaecology Services – Inpatient and Day Case
  • Emergency Gynaecology Services – including a Gynaecology Assessment Unit and inpatient ward
  • General Outpatient Gynaecology Services and additionally subspecialty clinics in Gynaecology, Urogynaecology, Subfertility, Colposcopy and Hysteroscopy
