We work from a variety of community settings, such as three community hospitals, community clinics, schools, nursing homes and primary care settings, as well as within peoples’ homes to provide over 40 services to children, families and adults.

We provide services across Essex and in Cambridgeshire (including Peterborough), Suffolk and Norfolk as well as two London boroughs, Waltham Forest and Redbridge. We have an income of approximately £67 million and employ over 1,050 people and serve communities with a total population of more than 1.9 million people.

What weare looking for

  • Level 3 community development and/or communication and/or social media or can demonstrate similar experience
  • Understanding the role of social media in community development
  • Experience in drafting and producing inspiring messages to engage people with the United in Kind pages
  • Computer literate
  • Good working skills and knowledge of Microsoft packages – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and social media channels and tools
  • The post holder must have the ability and presence to represent the organisation and the movementat local level and to be an ambassador
  • Maintaining a creative outlook and attention to detail at all times
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Independently mobile

About the service

The post will be positioned within the Essex Lifestyle Service. Provide’s Essex Lifestyle Service aims to empower the people of Essex to make healthy lifestyle choices and to live healthier lives. The Service works with clients to discuss needs and then offer up-to-date and evidence-based help and support to enable long-term positive changes to lifestyles.We offer Stop Smoking support, guidance on diet and exercise and help to improve self-esteem. We also offer classes to support people suffering from Long Term Conditions in Mid Essex. In addition to the services we provide, we are able to signpost people to appropriate support provided by partner organisations and support communnity capcity building.
