Midwifery Matron Ward Manager for Maternity Antenatal / Postnatal ward

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the midwifery leadership team at Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust as the ward manager for maternity antenatal / postnatal ward on a fixed term 18 month contract. We support approximately 4000 women and babies each year and we are extremely proud of the service we offer. The ward has 39 inpatient beds, including designated areas to ensure women have the best experience possible. It is staffed by midwives, maternity support workers, neonatal staff, health care assistants ward housekeeper and ward clerks. The ward is visited regularly by the multidisciplinary team in order to deliver a holistic personal service to our families.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing maternity antenatal and postnatal services. We are seeking a highly motivated, individual with the drive and commitment to continue developing services in antenatal care, induction, postnatal and transitional care services. This is also a great opportunity to develop leadership and managerial skills with the support of the wider managerial team. We are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking senior midwife. In addition, you will need to have the ability to provide direction and give inspirational leadership to all members of the multi professional team.

Candidates should be registered midwife with at least 5 years post registration experience with a passion for providing excellent midwifery care and have the required level of experience to lead and develop as a ward manager.
