Location:
Northern Care Alliance, Sale
Salary:

The Northern Care Alliance NHS Group (NCA) unites five local hospitals to deliver high quality care across the North East of Greater Manchester.

The Alliance provides the benefits of scale but delivers this locally through multiple hospital sites which make up four new Care Organisations – Bury/Rochdale, North Manchester, Oldham and Salford. Using our mantra of ‘Saving lives, Improving lives’, the aim is for our Care Organisations to work closely with the communities they serve to deliver safe, high quality and reliable care, which are trusted, connected and pioneering.

Our Care Organisations are designed to operate within our group arrangement of hospitals, community and healthcare services which bring together over 17,000 staff and the services of The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust. Our size and geographical reach means we are creating an environment each individual will be inspired and empowered by to be the best they can be. This is a really exciting time to join our new team.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Trafford Community Stroke and Neurorehabilitation Team (CSNRT). We would welcome applicants looking for part-time positions.

You will be based within the Trafford CSNRT, but affiliated to the Department of Clinical Neuropsychology at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust Hospital, as a part of the Northern Care Alliance. The Clinical Neuropsychology Department at Salford Royal is a well-established service consisting of a friendly and supportive team, which provides specialist clinical neuropsychology services for the Greater Manchester Neurosciences Centre, and in a number of local Community Teams.

You will be responsible for developing and evaluating the service, and will work alongside CSNRT colleagues to deliver and promote the service via the provision of multi-disciplinary team working, teaching and training. Regular specialist supervision will be provided by a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist.

You will have a strong interest in working with clients with acquired brain injuries, long-term neurological conditions. Previous experience of working with clients with neurological difficulties is essential. The ability to utilise psychometric cognitive tests is necessary. Completion of the academic component of the Qualification of Clinical Neuropsychology (QiCN) is a prerequisite. Access to transport is vital.

The Northern Care Alliance is an integrated provider of hospital, community, and primary care services, including the University Teaching Hospital, therefore you will also provide supervision and teaching for Trainee Clinical Psychologists from courses across the North West.

As a fair collection notice for all NHS employees, previous service details will be requested electronically from their previous employer.

There is a provisional interview date of Monday 6th January 2020.

In line with the Trust’s Single Equality Scheme we welcome applications from everyone irrespective of ethnic origin, disability, age, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, nationality, religion, marital status, social back ground or trade union membership.
