Dorset Minor Injuries Needs you!

Victoria Hospital Wimborne are considering expanding the Minor Injuries Unit and are looking to provide a service 8am to 8pm. Are you interested in joining us to be part of this developing service?

Would you like to work within a small, friendly team in the pretty market town of Wimborne, Dorset?

Would you like to gain more valuable experience in a Minor Injuries Unit?

We would like to welcome an experienced Band 6 Minor Injuries Practitioner to work in our small but busy, friendly team within our Minor Injury Unit. Full / part-time hours available.

Are you a registered nurse with emergency care or allied health practitioner with at least 2 years’ experience of working in emergency and/or minor injury/ailment care?

Working in the Minor Injuries Unit of our friendly community hospital, the Unit serves the local communities surrounding Wimborne and is situated close to Poole and Bournemouth.

You will be working as an autonomous practitioner within the Minor Injuries Unit assessing, treating, referring or safe discharging any patients both adult and child attending the Unit. Recognising and taking appropriate actions in an emergency situation. The post will take clinical responsibility for patients, carers, students and other junior health professionals and maintain a high quality of care for all patients attending the Unit.

The popular market town of Wimborne has a lively community which has a good range of facilities and special events including a beer festival and folk festival. It has access to a wide range of sporting facilities nearby and is a short drive to the wonderful beaches of Bournemouth and Poole.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The DBS levies a charge of £40 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments. This will only apply to candidates who are new to the Trust and not internal staff.

Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service and are able to present a valid DBS certificate will not incur a charge.
