Sister/Charge Nurse - Bladder and Bowel Service

Job Reference: 236-ICD-N280-2019

Employer:
Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust
Department:
Community Nursing
Location:
Turnpike House, Salford
Salary:
£30,401 - £37,267

The Northern Care Alliance NHS Group (NCA) unites five local hospitals to deliver high quality care across the North East of Greater Manchester.

The Alliance provides the benefits of scale but delivers this locally through multiple hospital sites which make up four new Care Organisations – Bury/Rochdale, North Manchester, Oldham and Salford. Using our mantra of ‘Saving lives, Improving lives’, the aim is for our Care Organisations to work closely with the communities they serve to deliver safe, high quality and reliable care, which are trusted, connected and pioneering.

Our Care Organisations are designed to operate within our group arrangement of hospitals, community and healthcare services which bring together over 17,000 staff and the services of The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust. Our size and geographical reach means we are creating an environment each individual will be inspired and empowered by to be the best they can be. This is a really exciting time to join our new team.

Are you currently a Registered Adult Nurse with a passion for Bladder & Bowel care and looking to specialise in an area where you can really help to make a difference to patients’ lives? Have you got the Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification or are you prepared to undertake the course? Do you have experience of managing your own caseloads of patients? Then we may have the position for you!

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Bladder & Bowel Health Service for a 12 month band 6 secondment. We provide assessment, treatment and management for adults with bladder and/or bowel dysfunction across Salford both in a clinic and domiciliary setting. We will support you in developing specialist skills in the care of complex patients whilst developing your team management skills to carry out the day to day management of a group of patients.

In order to successfully undertake this role you must be an effective team player, with a flexible approach, enthusiastic and fully committed to the development of patient focused, clinically effective services.

Due to the implementation of new systems and the introduction of a paperless environment, basic IT skills are essential.

This role is within our community service; therefore you must be able to travel throughout the working day.

In line with the Trust’s Single Equality Scheme we welcome applications from everyone irrespective of ethnic origin, disability, age, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, nationality, religion, marital status, social back ground or trade union membership. However, as members of ethnicity minority groups and individuals with disabilities are currently under-represented at this level of post, we would encourage applications from members of these groups. Appointment will be based on merit alone.
