The Northern Care Alliance NHS Group (NCA) unites five local hospitals to deliver high quality care across the North East of Greater Manchester.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Divisional Accountant with relevant experience within the Integrated Care Division. The Division is currently leading transformational change within integrated care, and the role is to provide support to the primary Finance Leads for the division which has a turnover of approximately £240 million.

As Assistant Divisional Accountant you must be able to work independently and assist the Divisional Accountant to continue to develop management accounting at the Trust including Patient Level Costing / Service Line Reporting and help change the way that financial support is delivered, working closely with colleagues both in finance and the organisation as a whole.

You will also support the Finance department in the process of meeting its objectives and assist in the preparation of budgetary and reporting systems; implementing procedures that enable effective financial management and efficient use of resources.

This is a pivotal role within the Trust’s drive to safely reduce costs across the Trust in the current financial climate.


You will be proactive and highly motivated with strong IT skills, competent in the use of Microsoft Office and a computerised ledger system.

You will also require a good understanding of the accounting function and should also be able to plan your workload in order to meet strict and conflicting deadlines.

You will ideally be AAT qualified or CCAB finalist with experience of working in a financial environment (previous experience in the NHS is not required).
