West Mendip Integrated Team consists of 3 teams (Older Persons' Mental Health, Rehabilitation Teams and District Nurses) who work closely together to meet the needs of the local neighbourhood. We are looking for an OT to work across the OPMH Team and Rehabilitation Team.

Older Persons' Mental Health: Willowbank Day Hospital is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to lead the small team of staff and take the day hospital forward to ensure it continues to provide good quality assessment and recovery focused groups for people over the age of 65 who experience mental illness.

Willowbank is based in Wells and provides a service for people over the age of 65 in the Central and West Mendip area. The day hospital works closely with the Community Mental Health Team and the Memory Service.

Integrated Rehabilitation Team: We are a busy team based in West Mendip area, in Somerset. We offer rehabilitation to adults in the community and in the local community hospitals. The team consists of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation assistants and a pharmacy technician. We are also part of a larger team consisting of district nurses, older peoples’ mental health services and ward based nurses.

WE OFFER the opportunity to make a difference to adults, living in the Wells, Street, and Glastonbury areas to rehabilitate and recover their independence in order to remain in their own homes or assist in identifying the assistance and adaptations required for alternative living destinations. We encourage independence and personal choice and help provide an environment which is conductive to adults with varied and complex needs. Preventing admission to hospital and reducing deterioration in function are key parts of the occupational Therapist’s role within the team.

We are committed to regular managerial support, clinical supervision and CPD opportunities.

WE WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU if you are a motivated, flexible, self-directed occupational therapist with an existing professional accreditation. Experience of working in a rehabilitation service and mental health would be of benefit.
