Hotel Services Supervisor - Shepton Mallet Community Hospital

25 hours per week - permanent post.

We are seeking a highly motivated and hardworking Hotel Services Supervisor with outstanding communication skills and the ability to work autonomously to join our friendly Hospital at Shepton Mallet.

The Postholder will be a team player who is committed to ensuring that the Housekeeping Service is of the highest level to ensure that a safe and hygienic environment in support of patient care is maintained and to comply with the National Cleaning Standards and Trust Operational Cleaning Manual.

The post requires a great deal of flexibility and a wide range of duties that may vary as the service develops these include:

• Use of electronic and other ordering methods along with coding of invoices
• A degree of physical work forms part of daily practices e.g. moving / carrying small items of equipment and stores, awareness of equipment within manual handling and lifting guidelines
• Knowledge of Control Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) is required as cleaning chemicals form part of the cleaning procedure
• Responsible in ensuring Hotel Services staff maintain the standards set out by the Trust / Department. That shifts are covered. Be a first line mediator in discipline and grievance procedures
• Maintaining duty rotas on Eroster
• Undertaking audits
• Good communicator with persuasive tact and diplomacy abilities
• Previous leadership experience
• IT working knowledge of email, electronic filing, Word and Excel

All necessary skills training, professional updates and mandatory training as appropriate to the post will be provided with an opportunity of further enhancement.

It is envisaged the post will be split 60% administration and 40% hands on.
