Lymphoedema Nurse

15 hours per week (Part-time)

Are you an experienced Lymphoedema Nurse or an experienced Community or Practice Nurse looking to develop your skills? If the answer is yes, then we have a great opportunity for you!

Hosted by Buckden & Little Paxton Surgery, we provide a community-based Lymphoedema service for patients living across Huntingdonshire and the surrounding area. Our important and rewarding service provides initial assessment and holistic ongoing management and support for patients with Lymphoedema who often experience other long-term complications with their health. We work to maintain mobility, optimise self-care, reduce avoidable hospital admissions and improve quality of life and outcomes for patients accessing our service.

The successful candidate will work alongside our experienced Lymphoedema Nurse, becoming increasingly autonomous as we work towards a planned retirement in 2020. Woking hours would increase from 15 hours per week initially to 21 hours per week with additional hours available within our Practice Nursing Team for candidates with appropriate skills who are looking to work longer hours in the short to medium term.

Fully accredited training, qualification and support will be provided for any successful candidates looking to specialise in this area with ongoing training and support for more experienced candidates.

Treatments and procedures include manual and/or simple lymphatic drainage, Kinesio taping, multi-layer lymphoedema bandaging, compression therapy, skin care, mobility and exercise advice.

We are an experienced community services provider delivering dermatology, vasectomy and lymphoedema services. Hours would be worked over three or four days with clinics based at both Buckden and Little Paxton Surgery sites.

Total Hours: 15 hours initially increasing to 21 hours (but flexible for the right candidate)

Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.

Closing date for applications is Monday 6 January 2020. Interviews will be held within the following two weeks.
