There is an opportunity for a band 7 ICN / CNS to join the successful and expanding IP&C team in Northern Devon Healthcare Trust. We are seeking a self-motivated and experienced Infection Prevention and Control Nurse / Clinical Nurse Specialist, who is able to work independently but also as part of a team.

Key elements of this role will be the development and supervision other members of the IP&C team, and contribution to the implementation of the new Community Infection Management Service in North Devon. This is a varied IP&C role covering a range of services and specialities. The team is based at North Devon District Hospital and provides an IP&C service across the Trust which is integrated - so incorporates acute and community hospitals, community nursing and therapies, as well as other community and specialist services such as sexual health, sexual health referral centres, leg ulcer clinics, podiatry and dental access.

The Infection Prevention & Control service is also contracted to assist with the prevention, surveillance, investigation and control of infection with other organisations i.e. the Royal Devon & Exeter (RD&E) Infection Prevention &Control Team (IP&CT) for provision of Infection Prevention & Control (IP&C) services to Devon Partnership Trust (DPT) sites in North Devon, and in the near future will be contributing to the new Community Infection Management Service led by the Clinical Commissioning group – this will provide an IP&C service to care / residential homes, domiciliary providers and GP practices in North Devon.
