We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, energized and dynamic individual to join our team as the Director of Midwifery. You will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to our maternity unit making a real difference to women, families and staff experience, supporting delivery of good clinical outcomes and driving cultural change within the directorate The role is key member of the Children, Women, Therapeutic, diagnostic and Critical Care division and will work alongside senior clinicians and managers to promote good governance, set standards, assess risk and audit performance to support high quality care.

You will need to be passionate and able to inspire and motivate teams to deliver our Better Births and Maternity Safety agenda. An inclusive and resilient leader with strong change management skills, we are looking for someone who aspires to take on a strategic midwifery leadership role, in partnership with stakeholders and service users.

The successful candidate will be expected to have a senior level of experience of supporting and managing operational services, promoting excellence in quality of care, have a strong governance focus and ensure that safe clinical care is maintained in line with best practice and evidenced based standards and guidelines.

You will be expected to facilitate and support quality improvement, work strategically with all key stakeholders across the Trust and externally as well be committed to the continuous development of staff.

As the most senior midwife within the organisation you will provide expert information and advice around professional midwifery matters and the provision of maternity services to members of the triumvirate as well as the Chief Nurse.
