Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust
Department:
Pharmacy
Location:
Salford Care Organisation, Salford
Salary:
£24,214 - £30,112

The Northern Care Alliance NHS Group (NCA) unites five local hospitals to deliver high quality care across the North East of Greater Manchester.

The Alliance provides the benefits of scale but delivers this locally through multiple hospital sites which make up four new Care Organisations – Bury/Rochdale, North Manchester, Oldham and Salford. Using our mantra of ‘Saving lives, Improving lives’, the aim is for our Care Organisations to work closely with the communities they serve to deliver safe, high quality and reliable care, which are trusted, connected and pioneering.

Our Care Organisations are designed to operate within our group arrangement of hospitals, community and healthcare services which bring together over 17,000 staff and the services of The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust. Our size and geographical reach means we are creating an environment each individual will be inspired and empowered by to be the best they can be. This is a really exciting time to join our new team.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual to support the Greater Manchester (Salford) sub regional immunoglobulin assessment/ advisory panel (GMS-SRIAP). The Pharmacy department is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and well-motivated MDT Co-coordinator who is able to manage an independent workload and is confident in assuming responsibility for a new key role in the management of immunoglobulin therapy

The GMS-SRIAP is being established across Salford, Wigan, Leigh, Bolton & Pennine hospitals to assess the appropriateness and efficacy of immunoglobulin's for patients from these Trusts, review requests from other sub regional panels and provide accurate and up to date information to NHSE. The successful candidate will have a key role within this team and will be expected to communicate with other healthcare professionals such as other team members, sub-regional panels from around the country and NHSE to help ensure CQUIN targets are met.

You will be responsible for the co-ordination and administrative management of Multidisciplinary (MDT) team meetings within our sub-regional panel footprint, recording immunoglobulin requests and use on the national databases and helping to shape new databases.

You will be working collaboratively with multiple clinical teams from each hospital and will be supported by the Panel Pharmacist and the Salford Royal Pharmacy department.

You will require experience of working in a customer/patient-focused environment, excellent communication, good organisation and interpersonal skills and have the necessary confidence and competence to work with a wide range of professional staff, internal departments and external organisations. Flexibility and aptitude to work in a fast paced department is important

We are an Integrated Care Organisation bringing together health and social care services and we have an extremely successful track record in delivering high quality patient services for the populations of Salford, Greater Manchester and beyond. The recent CQC inspection highlighted our innovative medicines and pharmacy projects as areas of exemplar practice.

In line with the Trust’s Single Equality Scheme we welcome applications from everyone irrespective of ethnic origin, disability, age, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, nationality, religion, marital status, social back ground or trade union membership. However, as members of ethnicity minority groups and individuals with disabilities are currently under-represented at this level of post, we would encourage applications from members of these groups. Appointment will be based on merit alone.
