Do you have a passion for infection prevention and control which can be used to deliver a health economy approach to the residents of Cheshire West and Chester? If so the Infection Prevention team is seeking to recruit you. An opportunity exists for a qualified and proactive Registered Nurse who has an interest in infection prevention to join its team on a permanent basis.

We are seeking a motivated person with a passion for patient safety, clinical excellence and quality improvement to join our friendly team at Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a proven interest in infection prevention, and who has a minimum of three years’ post registration experience, ideally in a range of clinical settings.

We are looking for a self-motivated, experienced Nurse with good written and verbal communication skills who is a team player but also able to work without supervision under their own initiative. They need to be able to influence others, prioritise work, have the ability to challenge and influence clinical practice and have a flexible approach.

The role will involve the delivery of educational programs in a variety of settings, undertaking quality improvement methodologies and provide specialist IPC advice and support to a wide range of providers including but not limited to; General Practitioners, Care Homes, Schools, Childcare Providers, Mental Health and Learning Disability providers, Community Care Teams, the general public and those who are either employed by or who use our services. The successful candidate will be supported by the IPC Specialist Nurse and the wider team to develop their infection prevention knowledge and skills.

Infection Prevention core working hours are Monday – Friday 08.00 – 18.00 (excluding bank holidays). We are based on the Countess of Chester Hospital Health Park (1829 Building), travel to surrounding areas will be required. The successful candidate may have the opportunity to work full time (37.5 hours) over four or five days.

Informal visits are encouraged.
