Maintenance Works Officer Mechanical

Ashford and St Peters Hospital

Hours: Full Time 37. 5hours

Band 6

 

 

We are seeking a Maintenance Works Officer with a site wide Mechanical focus across both of our sites. This role will improve Estates ability to support our clinical services and make a real difference.

 

Duties include prioritising, allocating and reviewing day to day repairs and planned preventative maintenance in order to meet deadlines and quality standards. You will identify training gaps, control our data management and liaise with internal customers and external suppliers at every level.

 

Having served a recognised apprenticeship or similar, you will bring a sound knowledge of building services, broad appreciation of health and safety issues and proven ability to lead by example. The successful applicant will be based at St Peters but will be expected to work cross site as directed by the Estates Manager.

 

You should have a strong mechanical background plus good electrical and building maintenance experience. The successful applicant will have a blend of interpersonal, organisational and technical skills. In particular you should be competent and keen to manage effectively the compliancy and statutory estate management matters, have good planning skills and be able to work transparently and efficiently within a team management structure.

 

Suitable knowledge of achieving very good water and steam quality and medical gases would be welcomed. A supervisory qualification would be an advantage as well as a background in a healthcare environment. The post holder will also be expected to undertake Authorised Person duties following appropriate training in Ventilation and Water quality. It is anticipated and desirable that the post holder will undertake additional training and attend courses if deemed necessary.
