Physician Associate

Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust would like to invite applications to a newly created full time Physician Associate post within the MSK Clinical Business Unit on a two year fixed term contract. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and enthusiastic surgical team providing high quality care to the population of Warrington and Halton.

We are looking for candidates who are motivated and dedicated to providing high standards of patient care and see their own personal and professional development as a priority but who will be fit to manage the growing challenges of healthcare in the UK as we move forward.

The successful candidate will be expected to work alongside junior doctors and nurses to help deliver high standards of care. The physician Associate for Trauma and Orthopaedics will provide expert assistance to Medical Workforce in MSK and the wider multidisciplinary team, and will participate in all aspects of the teams’ activities as appropriate. The successful candidate will be expected to perform delegated duties with a high degree of clinical skill and knowledge and to assist in clinical teaching and supervision of colleagues and students.

The post holder will recognise the importance of the multidisciplinary team in delivering a high quality, patient centred service. They will be accountable for ensuring that patient care is of a high standard at all times and that standards of care and treatment meet their department’s requirements.

Physician Associates will be supervised by a designated Consultant with individual mentorship to oversee career development.

They will work closely with their teams at all times but at the same time exercise a high degree of personal autonomy when assessing and planning care for patients. The post holder will possess, develop and maintain extensive specialist knowledge and experience in the department, acting as a resource for the clinical team and allied health professionals.

 

Physician Associates will represent the department at local and external meetings as appropriate.

 

The role does not include any on call commitments and will be based at Warrington Hospital.

A charge of £60 (Enhanced) will be made by the successful candidate which will be deducted from the first 3 months’ salary. In addition to this, you will also be required to re-pay any future costs that may arise in relation to DBS fees.

Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship
