Consultant Immunologist and Allergist

Applications are invited for an enthusiastic and dynamic Consultant Immunologist and Allergist to join our committed and forward-thinking team (with a complement of three medical Consultants (including this post), and one Consultant Clinical Scientist). The appointee would contribute to delivering excellent care by supporting both, the immunology laboratory team as well as clinical immunology and allergy services in Leicester. This will include outpatient clinics, day case supervision of adult immunoglobulin replacement therapy, and participation in relevant MDTs. The clinical services are currently working towards QPIDS and IQAS accreditation. Support for the laboratory service will include interpretation and communication of immunology laboratory results to service users, and participation in the monthly laboratory quality and management meetings. The Department has two medical specialist trainees in Immunology. The Department is a member of the Trent Immunology and Allergy Consortium (TRIAC) network, which aims to ensure provision of high quality clinical Immunology and Allergy services across the broader region.

Appointment to this post includes an attractive incentive (£15,000 at appointment and £15,000 after 3 years’ service) and relocation package (Terms and conditions apply).

The appointment is whole time. Any Consultant who is unable for personal reasons, to work whole time, will be eligible to be considered for the post. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis in consultation with Consultant colleagues.

Membership of the Royal College of Pathologists, full GMC registration with a license to practice, and inclusion on the Specialist Register (or equivalent) are requirements.
