Registered Nurse member of the Governing Body

Job Reference: 983-CCG-5501HB

Wiltshire Clinical Commissioning Group
Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon, Wiltshire
£27,300 per annum

Please be advised that BANES, Swindon, Wiltshire CCGs will be merging into one single CCG (BSW) CCG from the 1st April 2020. If you commence employment after the 1st April you will be employed by the new organisation. If you are employed before the 1st April you will automatically transfer across to BSW CCG on the 1st April 2020.

It’s an exciting time for us; we’re an evolving organisation and we need dynamic and passionate people who always strive for ‘better’. Bath and North East Somerset (BaNES), Swindon and Wiltshire Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) will become Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW) CCG from 1 April 2020.

The new organisation’s Governing Body comprises a majority of clinical decision-makers, including a Registered Nurse.  We invite applications to this position from highly regarded clinical leaders. As Registered Nurse on the Governing Body, you will bring a broader view, from your own perspective as a Registered Nurse, on health and care issues to underpin the work of the CCG, especially the contribution of nursing and Allied Health Professionals to patient care. This role should be seen as complementary to that of the Secondary Care Doctor who provides a secondary care clinical perspective, while the Registered Nurse will focus on the wider clinical team and patient view.

The overarching role of the BSW CCG Governing Body is to ensure that the organisation has appropriate arrangements in place to exercise the CCG functions. All members of the Governing Body will share corporate responsibility, as part of a team to ensure that the CCG exercises its functions effectively, efficiently and economically and in accordance with the generally accepted principles of good governance and the BSW CCG constitution.

We provide services for a diverse community and will welcome applications from all sections of society regardless of disability, age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, race, religion or belief.

The appointed individuals will need to be available immediately upon appointment to participate in induction and occasional meetings of the newly forming BSW CCG Governing Body (in shadow form until the formal merger on 1 April 2020).

Wiltshire CCG is obligated to manage conflicts of interest effectively in order to protect healthcare professionals and maintain public trust in the NHS. In order to support Wiltshire CCG in meeting this obligation, applicants should declare any real or perceived interest which, if employed by the CCG, may have an adverse bearing on the organisation. Declarations of interest must be made in the supporting information section of any application. If an applicant does not have an interest to declare they should clearly state ‘No interests to declare’ within the supporting information section.

Please note that failure to provide information about an interest or a ‘No interests to declare’ statement at this stage of the application process will result in your application not being considered.
