Band 5 Employment Specialist Roles

As a result of CNWL NHS Foundation Trust and Westminster City Council's commitment to expand access to the evidenced based Individual Placement and Support Employment model we are looking for a full-time Employment Specialist to be based in the Westminster Primary Care Plus Team.

We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, professional, experienced in supporting people to access paid employment and has the right qualities and aptitudes. These include a passionate belief that anyone with mental health problems can work, self-starters with initiative, a commitment to team work and strong organisational skills.

You will be joining a well-established Employment Service, who are a National Centre of Excellence, and will have access to a range of professional development and training opportunities.

Your role will often involve being the only Employment Specialist in a mental health team, and you will need to promote employment and raise expectations around the ability of service users to access paid employment. You will have individual and team targets, and will receive professional supervision and support from an Employment Team leader, a clinical supervisor and local peers. You will also be expected to spend time in the community negotiating job opportunities via the hidden labour market, as well as networking with local agencies.

The post is funded until November 2021 initially, but there is a commitment to securing on-going funding. Successful applicants will be entitled to 27 days annual leave per year, as well as access to the NHS final salary pension scheme.

Assessment Day: Friday 13th December. Successful applicants must be available for the whole day. Further details will be provided nearer the time.
