Community Nurse

An opportunity has arisen for a Community Nurse to work within the beautiful Moor to Sea Zone in South Devon. This covers a considerable area which is largely rural. The main towns are Ashburton, Buckfastleigh, Dartmouth and Totnes. This post is 30hrs per week at Band 5 AFC.

We are a small team working out of three sites based in three market towns. Due to the large area covered we embrace innovation and technology to help us achieve the goals of our patients. The successful applicant will need to be a competent and confident individual as they will need to carry out a large variety of nursing skills independently. We will offer comprehensive induction and training to prepare all new staff to be able to carry out their duties safely and effectively. The chosen candidate does not have to have prior community experience and applications from newly qualified nurses is welcome.

Communication is key and we work closely with our larger multi -disciplinary team colleagues particularly our intermediate care team who we give assistance to provide nursing care. Our other close partners include the following:

  • 5 Gp practices.
  • An acute hospital at Torbay.
  • The Community Hospital in Totnes
  • Therapy teams.
  • Social care colleagues.
  • Care agencies
  • local charitable organisations.
