Supervisor (Porters)

We are looking for a strong leader to support the team in the duties of Porters provide an invaluable service transporting patients on beds, trolleys and wheelchairs around the hospital site. They are also involved with a wide range of other duties including moving furniture, delivering supplies, disposing of waste and transporting medical gases for example oxygen cylinders.

To succeed in this role you will need to be well presented, have excellent communication skills, be flexible and adaptable in your work and demonstrate a genuinely caring approach to others.

Porters work a variety of early and late shifts (averaging 37.5 hours per week) including some weekends. Saturday working attracts a % enhancement and Sunday % in addition to basic salary.

Successful candidates will be appointed to the first pay step within the band when they start with the Trust (unless they have previous relevant NHS continuous service), thereafter individuals will progress up the pay steps in accordance with Agenda for change terms and conditions. For part time roles you will receive a pro rata'd (proportional) salary payment based on the appropriate pay step/point and hours worked in accordance with AfC and all medical & dental terms and conditions.

Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust operate a 24 hour 365 day a year service and all nursing, clinical and operational roles will require staff to work 24/7 shifts (if required) unless you are specifically advised otherwise as part of the recruitment process.
